French protesters took to the streets of Nice on Tuesday, following two failed no-confidence votes against the government of President Emmanuel Macron over deeply unpopular pension reforms failed in parliament.
Videos shared by Twitter user @WhatTheHekmat show hundreds of protesters marching, singing, and carrying signs.
The pension reform, which would raise the age of retirement from 62 to 64 for most workers, sparked industrial actions and strikes among energy workers, trash collectors, and other sectors, along with widespread popular protests.
Earlier this month, the government used constitutional Article 49.3 to force the legislation through the National Assembly without a vote, prompting Mondays motions of no confidence.
The legislation is set to be implemented by the end of the year, barring an appeal by opposition lawmakers to the countrys Constitutional Council.
