Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott on Wednesday announced the birth of son Charm, named after one of Baltimore’s nicknames, Charm City.
Baby Charm was born Tuesday night, just a day after Scott, 39, proposed to girlfriend Hana Pugh on Christmas Day.
“Last night, we were blessed with the healthy and safe arrival of baby Charm. Both Hana and Charm are doing great, and we are very excited for this next chapter in our lives, Scott wrote alongside a photo of the baby on Instagram on Wednesday.
I’m looking forward to the new adventure of being a dad and continuing the work ahead to keep building the Baltimore that Charm — and we all — deserve. Thank you to everyone who has sent love and well wishes, Scott wrote.
When Scott announced in July that they were expecting, it was clear they had decided on the name Charm before knowing the baby’s sex.
#Baltimore Baby Charm is on the way and will be arriving Winter 2024! Scott wrote on Instagram. Will Charm be a boy or a girl?
Scott has served as mayor since 2020, and previously served as president of the Baltimore City Council. Pugh is the operations director at Bmore empowered, a nonprofit organization that creates programming for Black girls and women in Baltimore. She has a 7-year-old son from a previous relationship.
