Drag Marilyn Monroes send message to world leaders outside Summit of the Americas

A group of drag queens dressed as Marilyn Monroe sang Happy Summit To You to cardboard cutouts of the world leaders in attendance at the Summit of the Americas on Thursday in Los Angeles. The online activist organizing network Avaaz shared video of the demonstration, which called on leaders of the Americas to take action on climate change and bail out the planet. The singers can be seen holding signs and wearing versions of the iconic white dress Monroe wore in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch. Each is standing next to a cardboard cutout of a leader, with U.S. President Joseph Biden right up front. Save nature before it’s gone, to really save our home, one of them sang, before they all joined together to wish them a Happy Summit, Mr. President, in the style of Monroe singing Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy.
