The FBI on Monday seized the electronic devices of New York City Mayor Eric Adams as part of an ongoing federal investigation, per reports.
The seizure was first reported by the New York Times on Friday. Earlier this month, the FBI raided the home of 25-year-old Brianna Suggs, who worked as a consultant and lead fundraiser on Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign.
The investigation by the FBI and the U.S. attorneys office for the Southern District of New York is looking into whether the Adams campaign colluded with the Turkish government and others to raise foreign funds for his election, funneled through straw donors.
Adams has denied any wrongdoing.
As a former member of law enforcement, I expect all members of my staff to follow the law and fully cooperate with any sort of investigation — and I will continue to do exactly that. I have nothing to hide, Adams said in a statement.
The electronics were reportedly returned to Adams within a few days.
