Several Democrats in Congress were arrested during an abortion-rights protest near the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. A video shared by her press secretary shows Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts continuing to chant shut it down as a Capitol Police officer leads her away by the elbow. Abortion rights are human rights and I’m not letting up in this fight, Pressley tweeted alongside the video. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Carolyn Maloney of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Katherine Clark of Massachusetts and Cori Bush of Missouri were among those arrested at the protest. The U.S. House of Representatives last week passed two bills meant to protect abortion access following the Supreme Courts decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. In the Senate, 60 votes would be required to overcome a filibuster.
