Climate activists in Germany glued themselves to a dinosaur skeleton during a protest Sunday at the Natural History Museum in Berlin. A video shared by the group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) shows two protesters in orange vests gluing their hands to the enormous skeleton and unfurling a banner alongside a child. Both protesters, Caris Connell and Solvig Schinköthe, are mothers from the “last generation,” the group said in a statement. “I am afraid of forest fires, water shortages, famine and war,” Connell said. “The dinosaurs became extinct because they couldn’t withstand the massive climate changes. The same threatens us: 150 species go extinct every day. And that is just the beginning. The group is calling on the German government to immediately implement a 100 km/hour (62 mph) speed limit and “affordable public transport through a 9-euro ticket” to reduce emissions. “I am a mother of four children and I am afraid of the consequences of the climate catastrophe,” Schinköthe said. “Peaceful resistance is our means of choice to protect our children from the deadly ignorance of governments.”
