Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto ORourke picked up an endorsement from Harry Styles during his concert at the Moody Center in Austin on Sunday. The singer revealed a “Beto for Texas” sticker on his guitar, with a closeup on large monitors. Then it was revealed that ORourke was in the audience, drawing cheers from the crowd. “Just a lovely, lovely man,” Styles said of the Democratic candidate. A video shared by Cat Cardenas shows ORourke taking some time to greet fans as the crowd screams. ORourke has focused in particular on gun issues in the wake of the mass shooting of students and teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, and was spotted wearing a cap honoring the victims and their loved ones. Also in the wake of the Uvalde shooting, the North American leg of Styles “Love On Tour” partnered with the nonprofit Everytown, which advocates against gun violence. Prior to stopping by “Harrys House,” ORourke was endorsed by Willie Nelson, who performed at a rally at Austins Moonwater Saloon.
